This event is organized by the Stand with Asians Coalition (SWAC). It is a non-profit / grassroots organization and a community of people in Canada who stand up against the rising incidence of anti-Asian and other forms of racism.
SWAC is working to unite municipalities across the country in acknowledging the impact of anti-Asian racism as a first step towards developing more effective policy initiatives.
SWAC obtained over 40 cities’ proclamations (nearly 9 million Canadians represented) to declare May 10, 2021, as the National of Action Against Anti-Asian Racism.
