Free Screening Inside Job documentary

Free Screening Inside Job documentary

April 25 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Please join the VanU Social Justice Team and the Civic Engagement Network (CENSC) to view the powerful documentary “Inside Job”.

“Inside Job” is a 2010 documentary directed by Charles Ferguson that explores the 2008 global financial crisis. Through interviews with economists, politicians, and financial insiders, it uncovers the systemic corruption and deregulation within the financial industry that led to the collapse. The film presents a compelling and critical analysis of how greed and lack of accountability triggered one of the worst economic disasters in history.

Many hardworking people lost large portions of their investment. Governments spent billions to bail out senior executives at various investment firms yet after the crash, these CEOs and senior executives took millions in bonuses.

After our movie, we will have an in-depth discussion with a group of panellists to delve into themes of the documentary, hosted by Tim Louis, former Vancouver city councillor.

This is a free event to engage VanU members with new comer communities in civic engagement participation. Hopefully this can also be an opportunity to create more awareness of VanU with new comers.
